Day 1: Arrival in Dar es Salaam

Hey, welcome to Tanzania! As soon as you land at Dar es Salaam Airport, our informed and friendly guide will be there to greet you. Relax and take it easy while we take care of all your travel needs and make sure you have an amazing time in Tanzania.

Day 2 – 3: Mikumi National Park

This is Tanzania’s fourth biggest national park. It takes six hours to drive there from Dar Es Salaam. People often compare the Mikumi plains to the more famous Serengeti plains because of their wide open spaces and large populations of wildlife. However, Mikumi is easy to get to because it is close to Tanzania’s biggest city. There are many kinds of animals in the park. It’s easy to see elephants, cows, zebras, and giraffes. You can also see lions mating and a lot of hippos in the park’s own pool.

Day 4: Udzungwa Mountains National Park

Udzungwa Mountains National Park is a small, hilly park famous for its rare species that are only found there. You can see bush elephants, monkeys, a few smaller mammals, and more than 400 different kinds of birds in this tropical jungle. There are some animals that can only be found here, like the red Iringa Colobus and the Sanje Crested Mangabey. But the grey-faced sengi, which is an elephant shrew, and a number of interesting bird species are only found in Udzungwa.

Day 5 – 6: Ruaha National Park

There are three national parks in Tanzania, and Ruaha is the third biggest. It is on the Great Ruaha River and is famous for having a lot of elephants. With over 570 kinds of birds, it is a birdwatcher’s dream. Also, you might see snakes, elands, sable antelopes, jackals, or the very rare African wild dog. When you go on a game drive in this beautiful but quiet park, you get to see an environment that hasn’t been changed in any way.

Day 7: Flight to Nyerere National Park

You can see the beautiful Rufiji River and its animals on a two- to three-hour boat tour. You could see hippos, crocodiles, monkeys, a lot of birds, and a beautiful sunset from the boat. You walk out onto one of the small sandbanks in the river for this sunset. There you can stretch your legs or have a drink while the sun goes down in this beautiful setting. At this point in the day, there is nothing more beautiful than a river that is alone and surrounded by wildlife.

Day 8: Nyerere National Park

Today, you’ll explore the jungle, grassland, and river banks of Nyerere National Park, which used to be called the Selous Game Reserve. This is a great place to go on a game drive. Fewer people visit this park in southern Tanzania than the parks in the north, but it is home to elephants, hippos, crocodiles, lions, leopards, giraffes, the rare African wild dog, the endangered rhino, and more. The only bigger park in the country is Serengeti National Park, so get ready to walk a lot!

Day 9 – 10: Flight to Dar Es Salaam and flight home
