East African cheetahs are about 114 to 165 pounds (69.9 to 74.8 kilograms) heavy and 1.1 to 1.4 meters (3.6 to 4.5 feet) long from head to tail. Males are usually bigger than girls.

East African cheetahs that live in Tanzania are a bit longer and lighter. Their length can range from 6.6 to 7.2 feet and their weight from 49.9 to 59 kilograms (110 to 130 pounds).

Cheetahs in East Africa have coats that are white, yellow, or tan. Most of the time, their fur is short and thin, but some of them may have thick, coarse fur on their sides.

It has a white stomach and a lot of black dots that look like circles. You can see some of these dots on its chest and neck. Near the end of the tail, the spots mix together to make four to fourteen dark rings and a white tuft.

For the cheetah, the main things that put it in danger are hunting, habitat loss, and habitat separation.

Infectious diseases hurt cheetahs in the Serengeti and the Masai Mara, but they don’t really bother the East African cheetahs that move freely.
