Ngorongoro Conservation Area

Ngorongoro Conservation Area

Ngorongoro Conservation Area. Serengeti National Park is in the north, and the Great Rift Valley is in the east. This is where the Ngorongoro Conservation Area is. The reserve area is bigger than 8,000 km², which is about 3,200 sq. miles. The Olduvai Gorge, Empakaai, Olmoti Crater, Ngorongoro Crater, and Oldonyo Lengai Mountain are all part of it. Many kinds of animals live in the area’s woods, valleys, savannah, craters, lakes, and swamps.

A natural beauty Crater of Ngorongoro
The main thing to see in this area is the famous Ngorongoro Crater. The big volcano blew up and fell in on itself about two to three million years ago. The crater formed as a result, which led to the growth of a unique environment with a wide range of plants.

The crater is now home to more animals than any other place in Africa. Lions, tigers, buffalo, warthogs, baboons, elephants, flamingos, ostriches, and hippos live there. A lot of dangerous animals live there, like lions, hyenas, jackals, cheetahs, and leopards. Of course, the Big Five—the buffalo, the elephant, the leopard, the lion, and the rhino—are a big draw to the Ngorongoro Crater.

All of them can be seen in this crater that is 20 km (12 mi) wide and 600 m (2,000 ft) deep. Enjoy the different kinds of animals and the beautiful scenery. Great views of the crater floor can be seen from the edge of the crater. Because of how beautiful it is, the crater was picked as one of the Seven Natural Wonders of Africa.
