Safety tips when you visit Tanzania
Is Tanzania safe? Safety tips when you visit Tanzania. Tanzania is known as one of the safest and friendliest places in Africa, especially when you go on a trek with a tour company. This country gets about a million tourists a year, and most of them have a good time. But, like many tourist spots, there are some things you should know before you go.
Take safe routes
Most crimes happen in big towns like Dar es Salaam and Arusha, so it’s not a good idea to walk around alone after 7pm. This rule is true all over Africa, not just in Tanzania. Take a cab or ask your hotel or guide to set up a safe way to get there.
Hide important things
It helps a lot to be smart. Make sure you’re careful. For example, don’t wear expensive jewelry or hang an expensive camera around your neck. Don’t take valuable things in your pocket; instead, put them in the hotel safe. Do not show your ID or credit card to anyone. Instead, hide them in a money belt under your clothes.
Nice people
Tanzanians are known for being friendly and open. They’re friendly and willing to help. The people who live there may approach you on the street to talk or try to sell you something. They will leave you alone if you politely tell them you’re not interested.
